I received my master’s degree in Social Work from New York University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have worked in a variety of mental health settings.
I have twelve years of experience with both adolescent and adult populations providing group, individual and family therapy in inpatient, partial hospital and outpatient programs. These endeavors have given me a strong foundation in understanding both individual and family needs.
As a therapist I want to help people to be their best selves. For some people this means learning how to cope with overwhelming mental health symptoms and life stressors; for other people it might mean making positive life changes, improving their relationships and moving towards self-actualization. Therapy should be tailored to the individual.
I seek to provide a safe, genuine, warm, and non-judgmental environment for you to heal and will work with you towards achieving a balance between acceptance and change. I strongly believe that therapy is a "partnership" - my role being a resource for you as we collaborate on addressing your specific challenges. Through a process of self- exploration, problem solving, and skills development, you can learn to overcome obstacles, clarify your values and reach your goals.
My practice is one of respect, compassion and service. My therapeutic approach is holistic, humanistic and client- centered. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy in addition to mindfulness, relaxation techniques and creative therapies to help my clients develop insight, focus on strengths and implement solutions.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband, three children, and our many pets. I also enjoy running, baking, gardening, hiking and painting.
